Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Stem Barks Ethanol Extracts of Asam Kandis On Male White Rats

Inflammation is a complex series of changes in tissue due to injury caused by bacteria, trauma, chemicals, heat, and pain. Gamboge (Garcinia xanthochymus) fruit-bearing tree native Southeast Asia. Plants the genus garcinia are rich secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, steroids, triterpenes which have potential pharmacological activity. This study aimed determine anti-inflammatory activity based on reduction edema volume stem bark. The inquiry was experimental. Through maceration, an ethanol extract gamboge created. animals were divided into five groups, each containing white male rats. test given suspension at doses 200, 400, 600 mg/kgBW, negative control 1% Na CMC suspension, positive 2.25 mg/kgBW sodium diclofenac. Observations made for 6 hours, then data analyzed using two-way analysis variance (ANOVA) test. results showed that ethanolic proven effect rats induced carrageenan starting marked significant difference (p<0.05). 600mg/kgBW dose group no significantly different from (p>.05). These concluded best had reducing leg rats.
